Luis Enrique ‘approached by Chelsea and PSG’ over manger job as Antonio Conte’s future remains in balance

LUIS ENRIQUE has reportedly been approached by Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain to become their new manager.

The former Barcelona boss is currently out of work, but according to Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, he is a wanted man.

Despite Chelsea arresting their recent slide with a 3-0 home win against West Brom, Antonio Conte is still hot favourite for the sack at Stamford Bridge.

Balague said: “[He] has been approached by intermediates who say they are calling on behalf of both Chelsea and PSG.

“It will be an interesting dilemma for him, because he of course will want to go to a team who can challenge for absolutely everything.”

But Balague believes there is a clear favourite between the two clubs courting Conte.

He added: “It’s quite clear that the PSG option provides him with the opportunity to win titles, but in the case of Chelsea, he has been preparing for the possibility of going to the Premier League for a long time.

“He has been learning English for a while, and he has told me in the past that he has a fascination with the Premier League, but his future is not determined yet.”

SunSport recently caught up with Blues legend Ruud Gullit – and he had some words of warning for under-fire Conte.

He told SunSport: “Hearing all these rumours all the time and nobody at the club ever says ‘no that’s not true’, there must be something.

“If I was Conte I would already be looking around, if there’s an alternative I would be interested.  Nobody at the club is saying it’s not true.

“Obviously that’s not a guarantee [of him staying], they may say ‘we trust him’ –  although that’s even worse!”
