BOURNEMOUTH have made a couple of significant signings – but the best news is that Jermain Defoe is staying put.
There was talk of the former Spurs and England striker joining ex-international teammate Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

But the pint-sized hitman, who managed only four goals in an injury-hit 2017/18 following a free transfer from Sunderland, wants to make amends at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries have added £11.5million midfielder David Brooks from Sheffield United and 10.7m defender Diego Rico from Leganes to their squad.
Eddie Howe’s men finished in a highly respectable 12th place last season after early season relegation scares and have retained top marksmen Josh Kink and Callum Wilson.
Promoted Cardiff City have been busy strengthening with midfielder Josh Murphy signed from Norwich City for £11m.

Full-back Greg Cunningham has arrived from Preston for £4m, keeper Alex Smithies for £3.5m from QPR and attacking midfielder Bobby Reid for £10m from Bristol City.
The Bluebirds will be tipped for a swift return to the Championship but Neil Warnock’s nouse and survival instincts could well see the Welshman turn the tables.

The action gets underway at 3.00pm on Saturday, August 11 at the Vitality Stadium.
